This is a total game changer. In first person the hidden radar blips make sense. You don't know where the enemy is, so there is a lot more needed than just movement and aim: patience, timing, prediction, etc.

Might be an option if 3rd person doesn't work well because of the hidden blips which leads to a lot of camping and cornering.

In a fps there can be camping too, but the camper doesn't have the advantage of seeing you even BEFORE you are around the corner which happens in a 3rd person game.  So, in a fps the person who moves first, often has the advantage of surprise.
